CRUES ON TOP AFTER WIN OVER BLUES AT MIDGLEY

Crusaders Strikers claimed all three points at Midgley Park to go top of the Danske Bank Women's Premiership with a 2-1 victory over Linfield Ladies, exactly a week after shipping seven goals to the same opponents at the same venue in the League Cup.

The visiting side took the lead when Northern Ireland international Julie Nelson slotted home from a Grace Murray free-kick at the back post to give the Crues the lead after eight minutes.

The North Belfast side then doubled the lead when Courtney Moore and Clare Carson linked to set up Celine Curtis who fired into the net from 25 yards to put daylight between the sides.

Linfield found the scoresheet late on when Kirsty McGuinness gave the Blues a brief glimmer of hope.
