Megan Bell scores
Wednesday, 26 April 2017
It took the visitors only ten minutes to take the lead when a Kirsty McGuinness cross from the left was met at the far post by Megan Bell.
Minutes later Bell was again on target in an carbon copy goal from another McGuinness cross.
The game then settled settled down with both sides creating chances and Cliftonville began to get their foot on the ball. However it was 3-0 after 31 mins when former Cliftonville girl Leontia McVarnock took advantage of poor Reds defending to punish her former club.
The Blues had the match wrapped up at half time when Debbie McCarthy scored on 35 minutes.
After the interval it took Linfield only ten minutes to add to their tally when McVarnock grabbed her second of the night and almost immediately Kirsty McGuinness hit the first of her two goals to cap a fine performance from the champions.
