Sion Swifts kicked off their Danske Bank Women's Premiership campaign with a three-goal victory over Derry City Ladies at Darragh Park.
In a scrappy opening, on a heavy pitch and in unfavourable weather conditions, both teams struggled to get the ball down and play.
However, Sion opened the scoring on nine minutes when a Michelle McDaid cross into the box was tucked away by Republic of Ireland International Amy Boyle Carr at the back post.
After the break Sion got on the front foot however Derry worked hard to stop their hosts playing their normal passing game.
But Boyle Carr doubled Sion's advantage just before the hour following a quick fire exchange with Chloe McGlade which saw her sneak a close range finish under 'keeper Molly McBride.
Sion made some changes after that with Kendra McMullan and recent signing Aimee Mackin being introduced and Mackin made an almost instant impact with an explosive finish to seal the points.
