Ballyclare Comrades squeezed to a narrow victory over HW Welders on Friday evening at Dixon Park.
The win moves Paul Harbinson's side into fourth spot overnight and halts a losing streak after recent defeats to Loughgall and Annagh United.
What proved to be the only goal of the game came with six minutes remaining after Liam Hassin knocked the ball to Liam McKenna who duly unleashed a powerful strike past Ben McCauley into the top corner.
Ballyclare crafted the first chance of the game after a couple of minutes but Adam Gray's effort from 20 yards flew over the top, with a similar fate meeting a Tom Mathieson attempt midway through the first half.
The Welders had their chances, too, with Scott Davidson dragging the ball wide after getting on the end of a long ball forward.
The second half was a relatively quiet affair until the last ten minutes or so with Welders striker Michael McLellan seeing a header creep just wide at the back post before McKenna popped up to secure the points for the home side.
