Portadown have agreed terms with Callum Ferris and Liam McKenna to keep the duo at Shamrock Park ahead of the new season.

Striker Ferris, 19, has been with the club since 2013 and has progressed through the youth ranks over the years, scoring five times last season and making the breakthrough into the Northern Ireland U21 set-up.

21-year-old defensive midfielder McKenna goes into his third season at Shamrock Park since making the switch from Warrenpoint Town a couple of years ago.

Manager Matthew Tipton was pleased to have secured the services of both players: "I'm delighted with both of the lads agreeing to stay," he told the official club website.

"Liam we feel can only get better and as a left back he can really develop his game and make us stronger in that department as well as offering us the option of playing him in midfield.

"Callum is a bright young talent and we seen last year that on his day he’s a handful for defenders. We now have to add consistency to his game as a young centre forward and get him to replicate his U20s form for us at first team level."
