Deane Watters has become the latest player to sign for Newry City manager Darren Mullen.

Mullen has had a busy summer, bringing in three new or returning players so far and agreeing extended terms with the majority of his panel from last year.

Midfielder Watters, 22, was most recently with Warrenpoint Town, making 26 appearances last term.

Speaking to club social media channels about the move, Watters said: "I am delighted to sign for Newry, I feel the club is a great fit for me, the style of football played here will really suit the type of player I am.

"I feel I have a lot to prove to myself and other people, I think playing at this club with the players we have in the squad will definitely help me do this.

"I'm really looking forward to kicking on with pre-season and eventually start the league. I know this team has the potential to be a front runner for promotion this year and hopefully we can get the club back where it should be in the Premiership."
