Warrenpoint Town boss Barry Gray has made his first signings of the summer as he ramps up his preparations ahead of the new season.

Gray, who himself recently agreed a new two-year contract at Milltown, has brought Colm Carney and Luke Gallagher to the club in a statement move which signals his intent ahead of the forthcoming campaign.

Carney, a 26-year-old striker, arrives from North East Football League Premier Division champions Trim Celtic for whom he scored 24 goals last season. Prior to that he was with Navan Cosmos and French club Elancourt OSC.

"Colm is an exciting, experienced and mature young man that is extremely keen to play top level football," Gray told the official club website.

"He will add great depth to our attacking options and I look forward to working closely with him over the course of the season ahead."

25-year-old Gallagher, a former Republic of Ireland U21 international, brings with him a raft of defensive experience picked up at Burnley, Shelbourne, Bray Wanderers and, latterly, Drogheda United.

"Luke is without doubt a quality addition, his playing experience speaks for itself and we are delighted to have him onboard," said Gray.

“Luke is another player we believe can help take us to the next level."
