Cliftonville Ladies have completed a triple signing of Northern Ireland internationals ahead of the new Danske Bank Women’s Premiership campaign.

Sisters Kirsty and Caitlin McGuinness have arrived after leaving league rivals Sion Swifts while Louise McDaniel - also formerly of Linfield - has joined from Hearts.

Kirsty and Caitlin - aged 26 and 18 respectively - have been prolific in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership in recent years and have been regulars at international level, helping Northern Ireland reach next summer’s European Championships.

Kirsty scored three goals in Northern Ireland's final four qualifiers while December's final qualifier against the Faroe Islands, with both among the highest league scorers.

McDaniel made her senior Linfield debut aged just 14 in 2015 and scored six goals against Derry City in one game in 2018.

The winger then earned a move to Blackburn Rovers in 2019 and joined Hearts the following year, and has also been involved in international squads.

“We are delighted with all three signings,” Reds boss John McGrady has said.

“All three have played a big part in Northern Ireland getting to the European Championships. They will add quality and depth to the current squad.

“Kirsty comes with a vast depth of experience. Her goal scoring abilities and assists speak for themselves. She will improve any team and has had a lot of interest from every Irish League Club and teams across the water.

“Her younger sister Caitlin is an exciting young player who can score goals from inside and outside the box, while Louise McDaniel is a talented midfielder who comes back home after spells at Blackburn and Hearts. She has the ability to open up defences with quality passes that other players don’t even think of.”

Cliftonville get their campaign underway against Derry City Ladies on 28 April.
