Coleraine have announced the arrival of defender Rodney Brown on a three-year contract.

The 25-year-old makes a return to The Showgrounds after having made 66 appearances during his first spell on the Ballycastle Road.

Brown was signed by Coleraine from Linfield in the summer of 2016 and he would spend 18 months at The Showgrounds before moving to Crusaders in January 2017.

The Ballymena man would make 89 appearances for Crusaders and lifted the Gibson Cup and Irish Cup during his time at Seaview.

Bannsiders boss Oran Kearney admits he has kept a close eye on Brown's development and is looking forward to working with him again.

"We know Rodney very well as he was here before and made fantastic progress before leaving for Crusaders," he said.

"It is well documented that we didn't want him to leave but we have watched him mature into a good defender and he is a real Steady Eddie.

"Rodney knows how we work, he is still good friends with people at the club, so it should prove to be a smooth transition back for him.

"We know he enjoyed his first spell here and he is looking forward to getting back at it."
