Warrenpoint Town boss Barry Gray has unveiled his first major signing of the summer in keeper Conor Mitchell.

Mitchell, 25, arrives at Milltown after helping Larne qualify for a place in the forthcoming UEFA Europa Conference League. He spent a couple of seasons at Inver Park, largely as back up to Conor Devlin, but still clocked up 22 appearances and six clean sheets.

Prior to that the former Northern Ireland U21 international was on Burnley's books for a few seasons during which time he had loan spells at Linfield, St. Johnstone and Chester.

Speaking to the official club website, Mitchell said: "I’m delighted to join Warrenpoint, it’s a club with ambitions of kicking on and going to the next level and I’m really excited to be a part of that and hopefully bringing a positive contribution to the team and the club as a whole."

And 'Point boss Barry Gray was pleased to get the deal over the line.

"He will be a massive addition to the team. He’s a player we have watched closely for months and I am really looking forward to getting him in and working closely," he said.

"This is a signing that in my opinion shows the quality that we are trying to attract."
