BANGOR LIFT TROPHY AS CASH CLINCH PLAY-OFF SPOT

Ballymacash Rangers clinched second spot in the Lough 41 Premier Intermediate League with a point away to Bangor, with the Seasiders presented with the league trophy at the end of the game.

In addition, the penultimate round of games saw victories for Limavady United, PSNI, Portstewart and Lisburn Distillery.

In an early kick-off at Clandeboye Park, Adam Neale fired Bangor in front ten minutes into the second half but Jordon Morrison struck from the spot late in the game to earn ‘Cash the point they needed to secure a play-off spot.

Their only challengers, Queen’s University, fell 4-2 away to Limavady United. The sides traded goals in the first half with Ryan Doherty bagging two for the Roesiders while Ronan Young and Ben Mulgrew found the net for the Students but Josh Tennant and Dean Brown registered after the break to clinch victory for the home side.

Lisburn Distillery made sure of finishing top of Section B with a 3-1 defeat of Dollingstown at Ballyskeagh.

Dale Malone hit edged the Dollybirds in front from the spot early on, but two Michael Gallagher goals either side of a Jourdan Shearer strike saw the Whites win through.

Bottom of the table PSNI collected a morale boosting 2-0 win away to Armagh City with James Turk and Tony Tumelty scoring after the break while Michael Stewart grabbed the only goal of the game as Portstewart got the better of Banbridge Town.

Meanwhile, the derby between Moyola Park and Tobermore United ended scoreless at Fortwilliam Park.
