A goal in each half from Michael Carvill and Rhyss Campbell helped Dungannon Swifts defeat Coleraine in the Friday night game at Stangmore Park.
Carvill might have opened the scoring on 13 minutes when his curling cross from the left was caught in the wind and almost crept home at the far post.
However, just a couple of minutes after that, he did find the net with a left-foot strike from 20 yards which beat keeper Gareth Deane into the bottom corner.
The Bannsiders attempted to get back into the game as the first half progressed but other than an Eoin Bradley free-kick which was turned away for a corner they didn't really offer much in front of goal.
They came storming out of the blocks after the break, however, with Jamie Glackin almost levelling on 46 minutes only for his effort to be cleared off the line by Callum Byers.
Then, a few minutes after that, Aaron Jarvis was thwarted by Swifts keeper Sam Johnston from Ben Doherty's ball into the box.
The chances continued with James McLaughlin controlling the ball with his chest before turning and shooting just wide followed by Glackin flashing a header wide.
But Kris Lindsay's side made sure of the points with ten minutes remaining. Daniel Hughes blasted an effort against the crossbar, Shane McGinty delivered the loose ball to the back post for Carvill to then lay off into the path of Rhyss Campbell who made no mistake in smashing his shot home.
