Rory Donnelly grabbed the only goal of the game as Glentoran narrowly defeated Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore Park.
Terry Devlin created the chance of note as early as the seventh minute with a first time effort which produced a superb stop from Dayle Coleing.
At the other end Donnelly did well to control the ball in the area and almost found the net at the near post but Roy Carroll kept the effort out. Dale Gorman then found Donnelly with a free-kick but his header went over.
However, what proved to be the only goal of the game came a minute from the break. Rhys Marshall cut the ball back from the byline for Donnelly to get on the end of and slot the finish past Carroll.
Dungannon might have levelled early in the second half after James Convie twisted and turned before beating Coleing with a left foot effort only for the ball to come back off the bar.
Then, around the hour mark, it was Glentoran's turn to be denied by the woodwork after Conor McMenamin teed up Marshall but again the crossbar kept the ball out.
Glentoran almost put the game beyond doubt late on after Donnelly sent a cross in which evaded everything only to finish just the wrong side of the post.
