A goal early in the second half was enough for Portadown to defeat Dungannon Swifts at Shamrock Park.
The game was a fairly evenly matched affair during the opening exchanges with little created in front of goal at either end.
The Ports came close to breaking the deadlock midway through the first half but Lee Bonis' close range effort from Oisin Conaty's ball was superbly kept out by Roy Carroll with a low save to his right.
Then, not long after that, Adam Salley did beat Carroll but Caolin Coyle was on hand to make a goalline clearance.
But Salley wasn't to be denied two minutes into the second half with what proved to be the winner, a curling effort brilliantly executed which left Carroll rooted to the spot after collecting the ball from Ben Tilney outside the area.
Dungannon rallied in search of the equaliser, threatening after the hour through Caolin Coyle and Ryan Mayse but Jacob Carney dealt with both threats.
Portadown had a chance to double their lead late in the game when a Chris Lavery shot was deflected wide while Carroll also denied Bonis with his legs.
