A late goal handed ten-man Knockbreda the points from Ballyclare Comrades' visit to Breda Park.

'Breda started well, opening the scoring after six minutes when Zach Barr played a through ball to his strike partner David Fearon who coolly side-footed into the net from 12 yards past the advancing keeper.

Barr was not to play much further part as he was red carded on 20 minutes for a tackle.

However, Knockbreda's ten men extended their lead two minutes later when Fearon was fouled in the box before composing himself to thunder home the spot kick to double his tally.

This gave 'Breda some breathing space but just on half-time Comrades scored when Gary Brown was played in and coolly finished from just inside the box.

Then, three minutes into the second half, the visitors levelled when a low cross found Thomas Robinson six yards out to knock home a simple tap-in.

With the extra man Comrades took control and dominated possession but 'Breda worked very hard to restrict their chances and did almost regain the lead on 52 minutes when Fearon's goal bound header was well saved.

The visitors kept pressing but on 84 minutes were caught out when Fearon broke from the halfway line and played in substitute Tiarnan McNicholl who took the ball into the box and chipped over the advancing keeper to secure the points.
