Newry City defeated HW Welders at Tillysburn Park in the final league game of the season to claim second spot in the Bluefin Sport Championship.
Darren Mullen's side now face Carrick Rangers over two legs for a place in the top flight, with the first leg at The Showgrounds on Friday night (4th May).
The visitors went ahead after 33 minutes when referee Raymond Crangle awarded a penalty which Mark McCabe slotted past Robert Robinson.
Then, before the Welders had composed themselves, it was 2-0 when Stephen Hughes netted a couple of minutes later.
The Welders appeared to display a bit more life in the second half and saw a few chances go close, one in particular from Ross Arthurs when his effort hit the crossbar with a clear shot at goal.
With time ticking away Newry's third goal came courtesy of Lukasz Gwiazda who, unfortunately, turned the ball into his own net.
