PORTS HIT CELTIC FOR SIX

Portadown stormed to a six-goal defeat of Lurgan Celtic at Shamrock Park, their first league win in four outings.

Adam Salley opened the scoring after nine minutes after poking home the loose ball following two efforts by Kyle McVey.

McVey found the net himself soon after with a header from Gary Warwick's corner.

The scoring continued just before the break with Chris Lavery's first of the afternoon after he intercepted Terry Fitzpatrick's headed clearance while Darren Henderson added a fourth early in the second half with a downward header from Lavery's cross from the left.

Henderson doubled his tally on 67 minutes with a close range finish after Gavin O'Neill could only push out a Warwick effort. Lavery then completed the scoring right at the end from distance.
