Queens nearly went in front on four minutes when centre-back Chris McIlwaine headed over at the back post and on 14 minutes only a superb save by Shane McParland kept out Matthew Hughes pile driver from the edge of the area.
Indeed it wasn't until the 40th minute that Dollingstown threatened when from a Jamie Tomelty corner skipper Aaron Moffett headed over the bar.
On 51 minutes Queens went in front. Dollingstown's young defender Aaron Rogers headed into his own net from a free-kick.
It was 2-0 12 minutes later when Moffett lost out on a challenge on the touch line to centre forward Patrick Stuart, his cross reaching Matthew Hughes to get the goal he thoroughly deserved.
Dollingstown got back in the game on 75 minutes when Lavery converted a penalty after a hand ball in the area, but despite a Michael Denver effort being cleared off the line from a corner this was as good as it got for the home side as the visitors took all three points.
