SWANS OFF TO WINNING START
Newington swept to an opening day victory over Ards at Clandeboye Park.
The Swans moved in front as early as the seventh minute when summer signing Zach Barr gave keeper Neil Shields, but Ards levelled midway through the first half after Jamal Dupree got his head to an Eamon Scannell corner.
The visitors regained the advantage on 29 minutes, however, thanks a Patrick Downey finish.
That was how it stayed until just short of the hour mark when a mistake by Adam McCallum gifted the finish to Darren Stuart.
