Spectacular finishes were the order of the day at Mourneview Park as Glenavon defeated Crusaders by the odd goal in five.
Ross Clarke might have broken the deadlock with around a quarter-of-an-hour gone only to curl the ball on an upright from the edge of the area after some good work by Heatley.
But he wasn't to be denied on 26 minutes when from a corner which Howard Beverland headed back across the face of goal he nodded past Johnny Tuffey into the top corner.
Glenavon levelled soon after. Mark Sykes won possession on the edge of the area and duly laid the ball off for Ben Doherty to make space to send a low shot past Crues keeper Sean O'Neill.
Clarke came within a whisker of restoring Crusaders' lead with a powerful diving header just wide from inside the box while, just before the break, Andy Hall played Sykes into position to beat three defenders only to fire a dipping effort just over from the edge of the box.
Gary Hamilton's side were denied by a goalline clearance just after the hour when Mark McChrystal blocked Doherty's shot before, on 68 minutes, Clarke knocked Crusaders back in front with a low finish into the bottom right corner after racing through the defence.
Back came Glenavon on 79 minutes with Sykes showing great skill and technique to knock an overhead kick past O'Neill from inside the box.
The winner came with five minutes remaining with a goal of the season contender when Josh Daniels beat a couple of defenders to unleash a terrific long range bullet into the top left corner.
