Glenavon withstood a Warrenpoint Town revival to claim victory from this Saturday evening visit to Milltown.

Gary Hamilton's side raced into an 11th minute lead when Jordan Dane turned the ball into his own net whilst attempting to deal with Andy Hall's cross.

Mark Griffin added a second ten minutes later with an unstoppable shot into the top corner from the edge of the box.

Warrenpoint pulled a goal back through Darren Murray just before the break when he rose to nod home ... and then, with just over a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, he found the net again with a successfully converted penalty after a Simon Kelly challenge on Stephen Murray.

But the visitors grabbed the points just four minutes after that through Bobby Burns' drive into the roof of the net.
