Glenavon remain top of the table following this victory over Kris Lindsay's Dungannon Swifts at Mourneview Park.

Andrew Mitchell might have opened the scoring early on only to head wide with the goal at his mercy.

And the Glenavon frontman came close again on 20 minutes with a snapshot from the edge of the box but Swifts keeper Alex Moore was alert to the danger.

Not long after that Ben Doherty also tested Moore, this time with a long range effort which was tipped around the post.

But Glenavon eventually found a way through six minutes from the break when, from a throw-in, Andy Hall was released by Stephen Murray to slot the ball beyond Moore from close range.

Then, just after the hour, Mitchell finally found the net when he tapped into the net from the edge of the six yard box after Rhys Marshall crossed from the right.

Dungannon pulled one back with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining through Kris Lowe. He netted at the second attempt after his initial effort had been saved by Johnny Tuffey but it was too late to effect a comeback.
