Stuart King takes the ball past Jordan Baker in the Mid-Ulster derby

KING FACES LENGTHY LAY-OFF

GLENAVON could be without Stuart King for the most of what remains of the season following the midfielder's injury in Monday's derby game with Portadown.

King, 29, was stretchered off late in the game after breaking a bone in his ankle in a tackle and now faces around six weeks in plaster before undergoing a period of rehabilitation.

The former Linfield and Ballymena United man had only recently returned to the fray from injury and is reportedly 'very upset' about this latest setback.

Boss Marty Quinn expressed his dismay at the loss of the experienced winger.

"It was an innocuous incident, but it appears Stuart is looking at a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

"It is very unfortunate for Stuart, he has fitted into the team so well. It might be near the end of the season before he returns to action."
