Cliftonville have signed defender Joe Gorman from Scottish League Two side Clyde.

The 24-year-old central defender from Dublin began his career in the Scottish Premiership with Inverness Caledonian Thistle, but has enjoyed spells with Bray Wanders, Drogheda and Airdrieonians.

Cliftonville manager Barry Gray told his club’s official website; “I’m very pleased to have completed this deal and look forward to having Joe available for selection in the coming weeks.”

“He’s a player who has come highly recommended, while we’ve also watched him in action ourselves and, like any signing we make, is someone I believe can help us improve as a team and a squad.”

The Reds who currently sit fifth in the Danske Bank Premiership, shipped six goals against Institute on Saturday at the Brandywell. The signing of Gorman will be a welcome boost to the North Belfast side when the transfer window opens on 1 January.
