Dergview produced the shock of the night with victory over Glenavon at Mourneview Park in the second round of the BetMcLean League Cup.
Matthew Callaghan knocked home what proved to be the only goal of the game after 35 minutes with a back post header past Johnny Tuffey after a free-kick had smashed into the Glenavon wall.
Glenavon started brightly with Andy Mitchell coming close to opening the scoring inside the first minute while further chances following for Niall Grace and Stephen Murray.
Then, after falling behind, Conor McCloskey came close to levelling for the Lurgan Blues but could only volley wide after a great Josh Daniels run and cross down the left.
James Singleton was then frustrated early in the second half, heading a Ben Doherty corner into the side netting before McCloskey produced a great stop from Alan Buchanan.
And the Dergview keeper thwarted Glenavon again by saving a Murray effort with his feet before, moments later, Daniels cut in from the left but could only look on as his effort came back off the underside of the bar.
Gary Hamilton's side had one final flourish right at the end after Jordan Jenkins found Mitchell but, again, the side netting came to Dergview's rescue.
