Holders Cliftonville kept up their chase for a fourth successive JBE League Cup triumph with a narrow semi-final victory over Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
'Point, rooted to the bottom of the table after 13 successive defeats, ended the game with nine men but they didn't make it easy for the Reds in a game played in horrendous conditions.
With chances at a premium in the first half Daniel Hughes created the first effort of note just after the half-hour mark with a glancing header from a Liam Bagnall free-kick but Conor Devlin was able to push the ball over the bar.
Cliftonville's best chance arrived on 41 minutes when Tomas Cosgrove crossed low from the right but neither Stephen Garrett nor David McDaid were able to convert.
Warrenpoint were reduced to ten men on 78 minutes when Mark Clarke was shown a yellow card for a challenge on James Knowles, his second caution of the game.
Substitute Jay Donnelly grabbed what proved to be the only goal of the game two minutes into extra-time when he volleyed past Johnny Parr from eight yards after Garrett crossed from the left.
Bagnall then picked up a second booking on 115 minutes to leave 'Point a further man down and no way back.
