Ben Wylie and Ryan Waide found the net for Northern Ireland as they lost by the odd goal in five to Scotland in their U21 friendly at Dumbarton on Saturday afternoon.

Wylie, who spent the season at Ballymena United on loan from Celtic, levelled for Andy Crosby's side with a close range left-foot finish midway through the first half five minutes after the Scots had gone in front.

Scotland found the net again just before the break but Waide, a second Ballymena man, levelled for Northern Ireland before the home side eventually bagged a third from the spot to seal the victory.

In addition, the U21s were captained by Kofi Balmer while a fourth Sky Blue representative, Trai Hume (on loan from Linfield) also started. It was also an occasion to remember for Dungannon Swifts' Oisin Smyth who made his full debut after coming on as a substitute earlier in the week to win his first cap.
