Glentoran remain top of the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership after securing a two-goal victory at Crusaders Strikers on Wednesday evening.

The Glens made it six league wins in a row thanks to second half goals from Kerry Beattie and Joely Andrews, they remain ahead of Cliftonville based on the head-to-head record between the clubs.

The Reds remain second despite Caitlin McGuinness netting a remarkable five goals in an 9-0 win over basement side Derry City, with her sister Kirsty bagging a hat-trick.

Caitlin had completed her treble by half-time alongside goals from Marissa Callaghan and a goal from Kirsty, while both the McGuinness sisters scored two goals apiece after the break.

The two leading sides in the division are separated only by Glentoran's better record in meetings between them going into the final three matchdays of the campaign, while they are yet to go head-to-head in East Belfast in what is increasingly likely to be a significant match to decide the destination of the title.

Elsewhere, Sion Swifts came from two goals down in the second half to secure a stunning comeback victory at Linfield.

Five of the game’s seven goals came in the second half after Aimee Neal had cancelled out Rebecca Bassett’s opener for the Blues just before half-time.

Katie Dickson’s double had appeared to put the hosts in the driving seat but two goals from Cora Chambers levelled the score before Caoirse Doherty scored the late winner for Tony McGinley's side.
