H&W Welders have announced the departure of manager Gary Smyth.

The east Belfast side are currently 11th in the Lough 41 Championship having lost three of their four outings to date, including a three-goal reversal to derby rivals Dundela on Saturday.

The club announced the news in a statement posted on the official website:

"Harland and Wolff Welders Football Club have this evening announced that manager Gary Smyth has been relieved of his duties at the club.

The Management Committee of Harland and Wolff Welders Football Club would like to place on record their thanks and appreciation to Gary and his Staff for their commitment and effort during their time at the club."

This was Smyth's second spell at the Welders, having rejoined in 2019 following a previous spell which brought the Steel & Sons Cup to the club.
