Big wins and late goals told the story of the Boxing Day fixtures around the Lough 41 Championship.

It was a day to remember for leaders Loughgall as they swept to a three-goal victory over neighbours in the top of the table clash at home to Annagh United.

Mark Patton opened the scoring just after the half-hour mark with a curling effort over keeper Joel Little before, on the stroke of half-time, Nedas Maciulaitis confidently slotted home a second.

Jackson Holmes then completed the scoring after the break with a 20-yard drive into the corner of the net.

Knockbreda also picked up a win in a noon kick-off victory over Ards.

Scoreless at halt-time, Barry Moore opened the scoring for 'Breda with a couple of minutes of the restart.

Substitute Ross Arthurs levelled for Ards on 52 minutes via a rebound but, just sixty seconds later, Max Greer restored home advantage.

Arthurs equalised for Ards again midway through the second half but it fell to Ewan McCoubrey to ultimately seal the win for the home side after meeting an Anto Burns pass.

Dergview fought back from two goals down to earn a point away to Ballinamallard United.

A BJ Banda double had put the Mallards into a strong position at the break, but Bobby Deane before the hour and then Mikhail Kennedy deep into added time earned a share of the spoils for Tommy Canning’s side.

Newington also bagged a stoppage time equaliser from their trip to Ballyclare Comrades.

Darius Roohi looked to have handed the home side the victory with the opening goal with around a quarter-of-an-hour remaining, but Jack Reilly struck in the 92nd minute as the Swans left with a point.

And Warrenpoint Town also came from behind to draw with Institute at the Brandywell.

Andrew Whiteside had edged ‘Stute in front around the hour but Adam Carroll salvaged a point for Barry Gray’s side with six minutes remaining.

The action continues tomorrow (Tuesday 27th) when Dundela host HW Welders in the east Belfast derby, kick-off 3pm.
