The wintery conditions wiped out large parts of the Lough 41 Championship and Premier Intermediate League weekend programme but some games still went ahead.

Championship leaders Loughgall stretched their lead at the top to five points after coming from behind to earn a point from their visit to the Brandywell to face Institute.

Cathair Friel edged ‘Stute in front just before the hour, but Tiernan Kelly levelled for the Villagers from a corner with just over ten minutes remaining.

Ards moved up to fourth spot thanks to a 2-1 defeat of Newington at Clandeboye Park.

Patrick Cafolla grabbed the opener on 11 minutes with a strike from outside the box, with Ross Hunter heading home the second eight minutes from the break.

The Swans pulled one back late on through Michael Morgan – and almost snatched a late equaliser only for Gary Warwick’s stoppage time spot-kick to be saved by keeper Alex Moore.

The top two in the Premier Intermediate League were both in action.

Leaders Ballymacash Rangers hit three goals without reply past Armagh City at Holm Park.

Scoreless at the break, Aaron Sharkey opened the scoring just four minutes into the second half.
Michael Moore then doubled Rangers' lead on the hour before, five minutes from time, Zach Barr completed the scoring.

And Bangor also won on the road, defeating Portstewart 2-1 at Mullaghacall.

The visitors needed just three minutes to move in front after Adam Neale connected with a cross from Seanna Foster to turn the ball home at the back post.

Portstewart levelled with just over a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock through Ryan Doherty after he made the most of a mix up in the Bangor defence to touch the ball into an empty net.

But, four minutes into the second half, Bangor grabbed what proved to be the winner courtesy of a Neale spot-kick to double his tally for the afternoon.
