Linfield have announced the imminent arrival of striker Robbie McDaid from derby rivals Glentoran on a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old will join the Blues at the end of the week when his contract at the BetMcLean Oval expires.

The Omagh native arrived in East Belfast in the summer of 2017, going on to make in excess of 150 league appearances and scoring 50 goals, in addition to bagging the winner in the 2020 Irish Cup final victory over Ballymena United.

Linfield boss David Healy was pleased to get the signing over the line, telling the official club website: "He's a quality player and one I've admired greatly for some time and I'm really looking forward to starting to work with him in the very near future.

"He knows our league well, so he is well aware of the demands, expectations and challenges that lie ahead.

"Robbie will be a great addition to our squad and I know that our supporters will be looking forward to seeing him in action over the coming weeks and months."
