Another important weekend of Danske Bank Premiership action produced victories for Linfield, Glentoran, Glenavon and Portadown.

The Blues kicked the latest round of fixtures off with a Friday night win over Crusaders to remain top of the table. Chris McKee opened the scoring on 20 minutes, but this was quickly cancelled out by Johnny McMurray.

The sides traded then penalties - Chris Shields for Linfield in first half stoppage time and Ben Kennedy just before the hour mark - before substitute Ethan Devine popped up in the 94th minute to turn home Jordan Stewart's corner to hand David Healy's side the points.

Glentoran needed just one goal to get past Dungannon Swifts on Saturday. Conor McMenamin struck on the rebound after 43 minutes after Jay Donnelly's initial effort had been kept out by Dwayne Nelson to move the Glens into second spot.

Glenavon, whilst still battling a top six spot, gained the advantage in the tussle for a European play-off place with a 2-0 defeat of Carrick Rangers at Mourneview Park. Both goals came in the second half with Matthew Fitzpatrick opening the scoring on 67 minutes and James Singleton making sure just over ten minutes later.

Meanwhile, at Shamrock Park, Adam Salley bagged the only goal of the game as Portadown edged past Ballymena United. The points will be a huge boost to the Ports in their fight to climb out of the bottom two.
