Kerry Beattie has been named the Women’s Premiership Player of the Year.

Beattie was part of the Glentoran side that won last season’s Women’s Danske Bank Premiership. Her performances earned her a move to Scottish side Glasgow City.

She said: “I would like to say a huge thank to everyone who voted for me to win this award. It means the world to me to be recognised by the Football Writers’ and NIFL.

“I had a fantastic 2021 with both Glentoran and Northern Ireland, and I’m hoping for more of the same with Glasgow City. I’m also looking forward to the European Championships this summer. It will be a massive moment for women’s football in Northern Ireland.”

The NI Football Awards is a joint venture between NIFWA and NIFL.
