The Danske Bank Women’s Premiership continues on Wednesday night as we enter gameweek seven of the 2022 campaign.

There are highly anticipated games across the matchday, which upon its conclusion will mean that every side will have played every other team once.

There’s a Belfast derby as league leaders Cliftonville Ladies have their title credentials tested at Linfield Ladies, while second-placed Glentoran Women host Derry City Women.

Third-placed Sion Swifts Ladies take on Crusaders Strikers – one point and two places further back – while there is a battle between newly-promoted duo Mid Ulster Ladies and Lisburn Ladies.

All kick-offs are 7.45pm.

Glentoran Women vs Derry City Women, Ashfield Boys HS
The Glens will be looking to bounce back from last week’s three-goal reverse at Cliftonville Ladies to record their first victory in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership in three attempts.

The East Belfast side have won all 16 previous meetings against the Candystripes with an aggregate score of 86-8 – meaning that the visitors will have a lot of work to do if they are to build on their two points to date.

Linfield Ladies vs Cliftonville Ladies, New Midgely Park
Cliftonville Ladies have racked up 30 goals and conceded just once in their opening six games, with a five-point lead established at the top of the standings.

Yet their credentials will be tested by Linfield Ladies, who have lost just once this season and would have five wins from six had they not conceded late goals against Crusaders Strikers and Sion Swifts Ladies respectively.

The Blues are on course for a top-half finish this campaign and held the Reds to a scoreless draw at Solitude the last time they met in the league, while they eliminated the North Belfast side from the County Antrim FA Cup earlier in the campaign.

Mid Ulster Ladies vs Lisburn Ladies, Mid Ulster Sports Arena
This is the first ever meeting between these two newly-promoted sides who are each aiming for their first ever victory in the Danske Bank Women’s Premiership.

Each have secured a point against Derry City Women while Mid Ulster Ladies twice took the lead against Crusaders Strikers last week before succumbing to a 4-2 defeat.

As things stand, Mid Ulster Ladies have a goal difference which is two worse than Lisburn Ladies – separating the two at the foot of the standings.

Sion Swifts Ladies vs Crusaders Strikers, Melvin Sports Complex
Only one point separates these two sides but such is the closeness of the standings, third-placed Sion Swifts Ladies are two places above Crusaders Strikers.

However, the Crues have won four games in a row against Sion – who are without a victory in this fixture in seven attempts.

This will be a strong marker for both sides – who both have eyes for a top four spot this season alongside Linfield Ladies.
