A full round of Lough 41 Championship fixtures saw leaders Loughgall win again while there were also victories for Warrenpoint Town, Knockbreda, Institute, Ballinamallard United and Ards.

The Villagers stretched their lead at the top of the table to six points with a 2-1 defeat of Newington at Lakeview Park.

Nedas Maciulaitis opened the scoring for Dean Smyth’s side before Robbie McVarnock levelled for the Swans before the break. However a Ben Murdock volley midway through the second half saw Loughgall push through to claim the spoils.

Warrenpoint Town made it four wins in a row with a narrow victory over second placed Annagh United at Milltown. Barry Gray’s charges moved into third spot thanks to a Ray O’Sullivan strike on 57 minutes.

Dundela are fourth but they slipped to a narrow defeat away to Ards. Adam Salley bagged what proved to be the only goal of the game at Clandeboye Park with just under a quarter-of-an-hour on the clock.

Ballinamallard United also needed just one goal to get past HW Welders at the Blanchflower Stadium, with BJ Banda knocking home the winner on 74 minutes after being teed up by Joshua McIlwaine.

Institute hit two goals without reply past Ballyclare Comrades at the Brandywell. Shaun Leppard struck on nine minutes before Cathair Friel, who had earlier hit the post, made sure in the closing stages.

Meanwhile, at Darragh Park, Knockbreda defeated bottom of the table Dergview by the odd goal in five.
