There were away wins across the board as week two of the new Sports Direct Premiership campaign got underway with Friday night victories for Larne, Coleraine and Crusaders.

Coleraine hold the overnight lead after defeating Loughgall by the odd goal in three at Lakeview Park.

All the scoring came in an blistering 25 minute spell at the start of the game. Andrew Hoey fired the Villagers in front as early as the second minute with a close-range finish past Gareth Deane before Conor McKendry levelled for the visitors moments later, again from close range.

Andy Mitchell then struck midway through the first half for the Bannsiders to ultimately secure the points after sending a low left-foot strike beyond keeper Berraat Turker.

Defending champions Larne edged to a 2-1 victory over Glentoran at the BetMcLean Oval.

Scoreless at the break, Micheal Glynn opened the scoring four minutes into the second half after connecting with a well timed Leroy Millar pass.

Andy Ryan doubled Larne’s lead just after the hour with an effort into the bottom corner from an acute angle.

Bobby Burns bagged an 80th minute consolation for the Glens to set up a nervous finish, but it wasn’t enough to deny Tiernan Lynch’s side the win.

Meanwhile, at The Showgrounds, Crusaders had goals from Adam Lecky and Jarlath O’Rourke to thank for victory over Ballymena United.

Lecky found the net on 16 minutes at the back post, with O’Rourke doubling up around the half-hour mark after being teed up by Paul Heatley.

United have skipper Colin Coates dismissed later in the second half but did hit a stoppage time consolation through a spectacular Ryan Waide effort.

The action continues on Saturday afternoon when Carrick Rangers host Newry City, Cliftonville welcome Glenavon to Solitude and Linfield travel to face Dungannon Swifts.
