With just one week to go the excitement is building for the NIFL Women’s Premiership League Cup Final on Thursday 31 August.

It promises to be the biggest game of the female football season to date, as reigning Women’s Premiership champions Cliftonville Ladies take on the cup-holders Sion Swifts Ladies, at Stangmore Park – home of Dungannon Swifts (kick-off: 7.45pm).

Supporters of both clubs are encouraged to bring the colour and be loud and proud for their teams, as Under-16’s can enjoy the game for FREE with admission at the gate for all other fans priced at £5.

In addition, the final will be streamed live for free on the Official NIFL YouTube channel from 7.30pm with Jonny Martin on commentary, joined by former Northern Ireland Senior Women’s manager Alfie Wylie.

It’s a repeat of last year’s final, Sion Swifts Ladies will be looking to make it back-to-back League Cup victories having won the trophy for the first time in their history after Cora Chambers scored an extra-time double to seal victory in dramatic fashion.

Cliftonville Ladies went onto make their own history last season by winning the Women’s Premiership title for the first time and now the big games keep on coming, as having already lifted the County Antrim Cup, they will be looking forward to a second piece of silverware before their bow in the UEFA Women’s Champions League next month against Benfica.
