Another breathless weekend of Danske Bank Premiership action saw a change at the top and a further bunching up of the chasing pack.

Larne moved back into pole position after a three-goal defeat of Glenavon at Inver Park on Friday night. Leroy Millar played a large part in the win with a couple of first half goals before Lee Bonis added a third midway through the second half.

Also on Friday evening Carrick Rangers visited Newry City and left the Showgrounds with all three points thanks to an Emmett McGuckin double.

Moving onto Saturday much attention was focused on Windsor Park and the clash between Linfield and Cliftonville.

A tense, closely fought affair it took an own goal around the hour mark to settle the game in Linfield’s favour after Kris Lowe unavoidably bundled the ball over the line at the back post whilst attempting to clear Kirk Millar’s cross from the right.

Another two of the top six, Coleraine and Glentoran, shared the spoils at The Showgrounds.

Dean Jarvis volleyed the Bannsiders in front on 22 minutes but an Aaron Jarvis own goal right at the end of the first half levelled matters at the break.

That was how it stayed until eight minutes from time when Conor McMenamin handed the visitors the edge with an unstoppable left-foot strike but Matthew Shevlin – who had missed a first half penalty – earned Coleraine a point in the closing moments with an acrobatic finish.

Crusaders swept to a three-goal victory over Dungannon Swifts at Seaview. Jordan Forsythe opened the scoring from the spot on 20 minutes, before two goals just before the hour from Paul Heatley and Adam Lecky made sure of the points for Stephen Baxter’s side.

Meanwhile, at the Showgrounds, Ballymena United and Portadown ground out a scoreless draw.
