Kerry Beattie found the net as Northern Ireland defeated Czechia by two goals in a friendly international in Opava.

The Glentoran Women striker - and leading scorer in the Sports Direct Women's Premiership - doubled Northern Ireland's lead early in the second half, just a few minutes after coming off the bench, with a cool finish into the bottom corner from 12 yards.

Beattie was one of 14 locally based players to form part of Gail Redmond's squad for the game of which five (Lilie Woods, Demi Vance, Nadene Caldwell, Marissa Callaghan and Emily Wilson) started. Notabe amongst them was Mid Ulster Ladies keeper Woods who not only made her international debut but marked it with a clean sheet!

In addition to the aforementioned Beattie, her Glentoran team-mate Joely Andrews and Cliftonville duo Kelsie Burrows and Rachael Norney - another debutant - all came off the bench.

The game was part of a two-game double header that began with a 3-0 defeat away to Scotland on Friday night.

Vance, Andrews and Chloe McCarron all started that game while Cliftonville's Fionnula Morgan made her debut late on and almost bagged a consolation for Gail Redmond's side!

There were also minutes for Callaghan, Wilson, Caitlin McGuinness and Danielle Maxwell.

The Sports Direct Women's Premiership full representation over the two games was:-

Goalkeepers: Rachael Norney (Cliftonville Ladies), Lilie Woods (Mid Ulster Ladies)
