Glentoran battled to an equal share of four goals with Gzira United in Malta to keep their UEFA Europa Conference League hopes still very much alive.

Warren Feeney's side almost got off to a great start when, as early as the second minute, they were awarded a spot-kick when a Shay McCartan cross was handled in the area but Junior Uzokwe could only send the subsequent penalty high and wide.

However, he did make up for that miss on nine minutes when he got on the end of a McCartan cross to nod the ball past keeper David Cassar.

Gzira levelled just before the half-hour mark through Brazilian striker Wilkson from close range before, five minutes from the break, Brooklyn Borg edged them in front on the counter attack.

But, just as they began the game, the Glens came out strong early in the second half and duly equalised on 48 minutes when Daire O'Connor headed home after Niall McGinn's effort from the left was parried by the keeper.
