McCLOSKEY AND PURKIS ON TARGET AS GLENAVON FIGHT BACK
Glenavon fought back from falling behind early on to get the better of Warrenpoint Town at Milltown.
'Point needed just five minutes to move into the lead after skipper Francis McCaffrey laid the ball off for Alan O'Sullivan to send a powerful drive past Jonathan Tuffey into the right side of the net.
Barry Gray's side might have doubled their advantage soon after when both Stuart Hutchinson and O'Sullivan connected with Kealan Dillon set pieces but headed over on both occasions.
But two goals either side of the break saw Glenavon eventually secure the points.
They levelled on 43 minutes after a Darren Larmour ball forward found Daniel Purkis who, in turn, picked out Conor McCloskey to tap home the equaliser at the far post.
Then, six minutes into the second half, Purkis found the net himself after capitalising on some poor defending to convert a quickly taken free-kick.
And Purkis found himself in a good position a couple of times after that but failed to extend Glenavon's advantage.
It ultimately didn't matter although Glenavon's afternoon was marred right at the end when McCloskey was sent off in stoppage time after collecting two bookings for unsporting behaviour.
