Warrenpoint Town and Carrick Rangers failed to produce any goals in a Tuesday night encounter at Milltown.
Ryan Swan created the first real effort of note but was denied by Aaron Hogg at the near post while, at the other end, Christopher Rodgers saw an effort deflected wide.
'Point looked the more likely to find a way through when Daniel Byrne went close with an overhead kick while Alan O'Sullivan played Swan through but he could only drag his shot wide.
After the break O'Sullivan sent an effort into the side netting with action then switching to the opposite box for Cathair Friel to see a volley cleared off the line.
However, it was a game of few opportunities generally with perhaps the last chance coming when Dermot McVeigh saw his low strike from inside the box well held by Hogg.
