Goals from Fra McCaffrey and Alan O'Sullivan helped Warrenpoint Town defeat Portadown at Shamrock Park.
Warrenpoint Town got off to a bright start and came close to opening the scoring after ten minutes when Ryan Swan saw an effort deflected wide while, moments later, Danny Wallace was denied by Jacob Carney who got down low to turn his shot away.
Portadown moved in front on 17 minutes. Paul Finnegan was adjudged to have been brought down by Andy Coleman and from the spot-kick that followed Adam Salley stepped up to convert despite Coleman diving the right way.
'Point levelled ten minutes after that when McCaffrey and Ports keeper Carney both challenged for the ball with it falling loose for McCaffrey to turn home from an acute angle.
Salley almost made the most of a mix up in the Warrenpoint defence just before the break to restore Portadown's lead but his effort on goal took a deflection off Wallace before going just wide.
O'Sullivan might have edged Warrenpoint in front early in the second half just to fire wide of an upright while, soon after, Daniel Byrne sent an effort from distance over.
However, what proved to be the winner came just after the hour when O'Sullivan reacted quickest to a Byrne header from Kealan Dillon's corner to direct the ball home from close range.
The Ports could have snatched the equaliser in the closing stages when Lee Bonis tested Coleman with a free-kick from the edge of the box but the 'Point keeper did well to save low to his right while, in stoppage time, Adam McCallum sent the final chance past the left post.
