McMENAMIN WINNER SECURES GLENTORAN'S PLACE IN EUROPE
Glentoran secured a place in Europe next season with a one-goal defeat of Larne at Inver Park.
The first half was a largely uneventful affair with the opening half-an-hour or so only brightened by an early speculative 30-yard effort from Ronan Hale, with the same player later testing Dayle Coleing from close range.
What proved to be the only goal of the game came just a couple of minutes after the break when Jay Donnelly got past a defender before crossing for Conor McMenamin to slot the ball beyond Conor Mitchell.
David McDaid had a chance to level for Larne on 70 minutes after going on a solo run before sending the ball just wide with Coleing scrambling to keep it out.
Larne had further openings late in the game. Josh Robinson sent a header just wide from John Herron's corner while Martin Donnelly and then Albert Watson both saw efforts drop the wrong side of an upright.
